Chapter 1: Introduction
What is CSS?
Cascading Styling Sheet (CSS) is basically what your website will look like, feel like, and seem like. Well HTML is the structure of it all. Think of it as HTML makes up the walls of the building, and CSS paints those walls and gives them a design. It basically designs the HTML.

Why do I need CSS?
Well there's really only one way to say this, your website will look like crap. You can build up and add content to your website, give it a name, and even put a few colors and images in. But without CSS it looks like emptiness. Think of it like a carnival that has no music, is black and white and the food taste like nothing. Well that's what your website is like without CSS, a boring dry place with nothing to do. Add CSS and the color rolls in, the music pops out, and the food tastes great.

What CSS did
CSS solved many of the problems in the coding world. Originally HTML was made to create the content of a document such as the header, words and such. CSS then came in and said hey that looks really boring, lets make things a little more fun. So that's what CSS did. It came in and made websites fun and colorful! Of course HTML has the ability to make color and such, but it will not look nearly as good if you were to use CSS.

CSS Saved work and time
With CSS you define what a paragraph will look like after its written. Originally each time you wanted a paragraph to look a certain way you had to write down what it should look like every time. And you had to rewrite it for every web page and paragraph there was. Now with CSS you can define all paragraphs at once. Making so if you want paragraphs to look different you just have to edit a single line of code instead of every single paragraph individually. It saves LOADS of time and Work, and was first used in HTML 4. Today every browser Supports CSS to allow the ease of coding for everyone.

Now that we got all the basic questions and such down its time to start learning! So move on to the next chapter! Or if you skipped HTML you should probably go back and read that first because your going to be lost by CSS if you don't know HTML.
